Job Description:

The Retail Sales Lead assists retail management team by taking lead responsibilities and providing direction and guidance to retail sales staff on assigned shifts.

  • Provide leadership to retail teams to ensure all merchandising policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Perform weekly shop audits and initiate follow-up to address identified issues.
  • Monitor daily store recovery records to identify issues; initiate follow-up to address identified issues.
  • Open/close registers, prepare deposits and complete daily recap paperwork.
  • Provide guidance to Retail Associates to ensure that customers receive the highest standards of customer service and sales expertise at all times.
  • Ensure all merchandise is priced correctly and displayed in a manner consistent with shop standards.
  • Ensure purchase orders and transfers between shops are processed accurately and in a timely manner as established by management.
  • Ensure inventory in stock room and storage areas is stored and inventoried according to council standards.
  • Motivate staff team and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Monitor all of the Managers’ price change requests (mark downs / ups), following-up with shop team to ensure changes are made. Monitor sale dates to ensure sales start and end according to schedule.
  • Communicate any problems with merchandise pricing to the Retail Assistant Manager.
  • Attend required staff meetings.
  • Attend occasional evening or weekend events to represent retail shop at a council-sponsored event.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Proficiency of MS Office programs.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of our diverse organization, external customers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout merchandise, structure and program to assist customers preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Point of Sale systems (familiarity with Retail Management System and OpSuite software strongly desired).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, work with fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to perform light work exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Heavy visual acuity required performing such activities as preparing and analyzing data and figures, using computer terminal and reading.
  • Activities occur both inside and outside and employee is subject to both environmental conditions.
